Name: Socialist Republic of Vladislav Location: KootenayOrigin/History: This nation started off very poorly. It was run horribly by Czar Lyn, a caring leader, who constantly made bad decisions despite being a nice person. He ran the country into the ground, and gave the Vladislav family the chance to take over. They easily destroyed the existing government, assassinated Lyn, and took over. From there, the country has taken off. Although the new leaders are very controlling, harsh, and restricting, the country is now blooming. It has a great economy, has good diplomatic relations, and now has well established schools and agriculture. However, most of the countries spendings go into nuclear weaponry. The Socialist Republic of Vladislav is extremely excessive in their production of nuclear bombs, and have started a sort of Cold War against the Federal Republic of the Uthadlands in an effort to gain nuclear superiority over their foe. This war has caused global tension, and to be honest, most nations are very wary of the massive nuclear might that the Socialist Republic of Vladislav has.Languages: English / WelshPopulation: Mahajangasuchidae, 100 Million EstimatedPolitical System: Parliamentary Republic

"But..." Zero began, before being interrupted; "No. You are not authorized to lay your eyes upon the secret operation we are conducting in this area of the facility. That is final, Zero!" His commander ordered. Zero had been trying to enter the mysterious door all day, but to no avail. "Dickhead" he responded aggressively. A nerve twitched in his commanders forehead. "You do not speak like that to me again Private! Do you understand?" Zero shrugged and walked off. He decided instead to snoop around his commanders office.
And so he did, in the process finding intriguing information. According to these plans, multiple nuclear bombs were being constructed inside the facility where he was training. These were to be build in preparation for a war of some sort, that was only briefly described in the documentation. Of course, at this news, Zero became exited. He imagined being on the battlefield, fighting for Vladislav, and seeing nuclear weapons detonated on his enemy on the horizon. He couldn't wait, and began training immediately.

Zero couldn't help himself. As soon as he heard the news of the new weaponry being tested, he had to go see it. He just had to. He illegally jumped onto the truck that was transporting the bombs to the testing field, and traveled with the truck all the way there. Once he had arrived, he hid in the backseat of the car, with enough head room to see the bomb being tested. He didn't know what to expect, and to be honest, his heart was pounding so hard you would have been able to hear it. An hour or so later, the test began.
"Testing weapon Mark 7 prototype, without nuclear effects," the radio intercom in the truck said. "Preparing viewing station for detonation in T - 1:59:99" Although disappointed that the actual nuclear side to the weapon would not be showcased, Zero was ecstatic that he was going to be here to see this. Instead of 2 minutes, the countdown seemed to take 2 hours, but when the intercom said "T - 0:01:00" Zero braced himself. And then it happened. The mushroom shaped cloud immediately burst up into the air, visibly turning the atmosphere into plasma as it crept up into the highest reaches of the Stratosphere. The sonic boom came soon after, a huge crack that sounded like the heavens themselves were breaking apart. A huge pile of dust and other debris was carried by this shock wave and bombarded against the truck and the viewing facility. After a couple of minutes, gaping in awe at the destruction, it was clear that everything in this weapons path would be obliterated. Especially with a nuclear effect. As the mushroom cloud continued to rise, and the debris finally settled down, a voice on the intercom said one sentence:
"I have become death, the destroyer of worlds."

And so it began, the war between the two nations. Who could build the best bomb? Who would have the most firepower? Who would have the power to destroy the world? Vladislav, the entire nation, seemed very determined to win this battle. In preparation for war, the amount of people enlisting for the military doubled, and all existing Privates were promoted to Captains, in order to train these new recruits. And so, Captain Zero began training his squad, aptly named Squad Zero.
Zero decided that every time a new warhead was tested, he would hitch a ride with the truck and watch the detonation. These new warheads seemed to be coming out fairly rapidly, once every couple months and sometimes sooner. He couldn't wait for the next one. In the mean time, he continued training Squad Zero. His students probably hated him already.

"This is bullshit!" One of Zero's students, Chad, screamed. Zero immediately stopped the training drill. All the other students were silent. Zero quietly, and carefully, tiptoed towards Chad. Chad began to slowly retreat, looking petrified and in shock at what had slipped out of his mouth. Zero saw this, and whispered "Uh uh uh, you stay right there please". Chad seemed hopeful that, since Zero had actually said please, maybe he would not get as harsh punishment as he expected. Zero approached Chad, and he finally made it to about 1 foot in front of him. Uncomfortable distance for some, especially when the person who approached you is staring right into your soul. The other students looked on, in silence so complete you could hear a pin drop. And, in fact, Zero realized this to. He pulled out the spare clip he had for his badge, and dropped it onto the dust. "You could hear that," he said calmly. "Why can we hear that?" Chad said nothing, terrified, and then shrugged. "It's because there is perfect silence. Silence so perfect, you can hear a pin drop. Do you know why it is so silent?" Chad gulped. "Because the other students, who are respectful and kind, know what is coming."
Zero stepped closer. "We have a huge excess of Privates, you know," He continued, still speaking calmly. "You don't need to be here. You are lucky I selected you from a huge group of young soldiers!" Chad said nothing, but slightly smirked. Zero scowled. "I'd wipe that arrogant smirk off your face, because guess what?" Chads eyes widened. Zero stepped so close they were almost touching. "Right here, right now, YOU ARE GOING TO EXPLAIN WHY I SHOULD KEEP YOU ON MY SQUAD, YOU PATHETIC, DISRESPECTFUL, STUBBORN, ARROGANT, LITTLE WANK STAIN!" Zero's outburst echoed throughout the facility. Some of the other students started giggling. Chad said nothing, tilting his head back to avoid crying. "Fucking sook! Pathetic" Zero yelled as he walked away. "Get the FUCK out of my squad!" Chad walked back inside to collect his items. The other students stood still as Zero walked over to them. "Sorry guys," he said, "but I just don't tolerate that at all. You are all very special soldiers, that's why I selected you, and to see that selection go to waste just maddens and saddens me deeply. My apologies." And with that, training resumed.
After training, Zero was given a warning by his Commander. "You cannot pull that shit Zero!" He yelled, "these soldiers are valuable! For the glory and protection of Vladislav!" Zero exhaled loudly. "Rightio Joe, won't happen again." His commander was unconvinced. "Sarcasm is not appreciated. And furthermore..." His commander was interrupted by a Lieutenant, whom Zero did not recognize. Naughtily, Zero eavesdropped on their conversation. Zero did not hear much from such distance, but was able to pick up these words; "Nuclear" "Detonation" "As soon as possible" "Week" "Uthadlands" "Truck" "Bigger" "We" and "Vladislav" They were very obviously discussing plans for the next detonation, and it seemed it would be occurring soon. After Zero had heard all he needed, he head off, back to his room to eat. He had trouble sleeping that night, with butterflies in his stomach just from the thought of the next bomb.

Zero awoke to the news that the Uthadlands had just detonated their second nuclear weapon. The officers and commanders of the Vladislav military were scurrying about the main training facility where Zero worked, frantically chatting and organizing things with eachother. Zero quickly woke up properly, got showered and dressed, and then approached his commander. "Um, excuse me, but what's the big deal?" His commander sighed. "The Uthadlands had more firepower than us, and they are displaying it!" Zero looked uninterested. "They even have the technology to drop their weapons from planes!" Zero was impressed by this. His commander noticed. "That is bad news, not good news. We are going to have to prematurely detonate a weapon, even though we do not have the technology to drop it from a plane. Fuck, we are behind." His commander scurried away, while Zero excitedly climbed underneath the truck and hitched a ride to the testing field.
The same countdown was played, and when the timer ran out... Nothing happened. There was no boom. Zero's excitement vanished in an instant. "What?" He whimpered. Voiced were on the radio, saying things like, "What has just happened? Can someone explain? Detonation failure!" While these voices were frantically communicating, Zero lay in the back seat of the truck immersed in disappointment. He was so excited to see the next detonation, and now it was not goiBOOM. The entire windscreen was engulfed by flashes of first blue, then orange. An absolutely gigantic mushroom cloud, much bigger than the second rose into the air rapidly. The redness of the cloud turned the surrounding sky into shades of yellow and orange, as the air was again turned into plasma. The shockwave came faster and harder than before, knocking down a whole fence and blowing it straight into the truck. The fence smashed against the door, taking the side mirror clean off as it flew past. Huge chunks of rock and other debris were flying around in the air, and if Zero had not have been inside the truck he was sure his eardrums would have burst.
There was silence for some time. The voices on the radio, after many minutes, began talking. They declared this second bomb a huge success, showing the Uthadlands that although they had less advanced tech, they could produce a bomb just as big.
