Theropod brought to my attention that more pets then cats or dogs might be fun. So here's a list of available pets. For the sake of realism you have to find a way to keep it safe during the shipwreck. You're on a medium sized boat being pummeled by waves, and the pet is either hiding or counting on you.
Options
Dogs- short and rough haired breeds will fare better.
Domestic cat - short haired breeds will fare better.
Eagles- Must be a warm weather variation
